Future R&B, Future Bass, Soul, Nu Disco, Afrobeats

Ericalandia started djing on the radio. She pored over her mom’s soul and dance records as a kid. She dj’d years on-air starting in her teens, breaking new artists and perfecting her mixing before eventually playing out in front of crowds. Erica’s got a crush on the intersection of soul & electronic music and she’s helped usher in the new wave of Future R&B and Future Bass now dominating art circles and mainstream alike. She started writing about new artists for Okayfuture and creating a mix series called Soultronica in 2010.

Erica loves setting vibes and creating a story and force field of sound when she’s at the helm. She also loves playing in quirky, unusual settings like museums, boats and silent discos at festivals. Originally from San Francisco, she moved to New York, before settling in Los Angeles as a home base for her nomadic travelling schedule. She loves adventuring to play in her favorite places like Tokyo, Paris and London. She’s warmed up the Beehive for Beyoncé, played alongside Aloe Blacc, Janelle Monae & Miguel and just got off a mini-Asia tour with Grammy-nominated Soulection artist Starro.

She likes the challenge of shifting gears and genres to suit settings, be it the Guggenheim Museum or Coachella. Erica has been a choice DJ for lines like UK’s Top Shop, Converse and Rihanna’s Fenty line. A fav gig? Playing for Reggie Watts bday at Ace Hotel DTLA. She’s also pretty tickled to be featured in New York Magazine, Martha Stewart & Forbes [in a piece on Soulection as an early tastemaker]. However, the love notes from James Blake and Francis and the Lights on her Soultronica vol.3 mix are her very favorite accolades.
